Recycling of glass, for example, uses high-tech separation technology. Since 2000, Progmatic has been providing automation control for the three largest glass recycling companies in the Benelux. This has long contributed to the careful separation and cleaning of all collected glass. Currently, about 85% of all glass in the Netherlands and Belgium is recycled and reused in the production of new glass for various applications. The quality of automated separation and cleaning of waste glass has also increased significantly in recent years due to process refinements. Another excellent case study and success story is the innovative and sustainable way in which Uzimet, as the only company in the Benelux, produces sheet lead. Through a refining process, old lead is remelted into sheet lead that can be used for numerous new applications.
